GRE India Contest Terms & Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

ETS India Private Limited (“ETS India”) is conducting the GRE India Contest (the “Contest”). In the Contest, the participants would get a chance to win a Cash Prize (defined below) in accordance with the following terms and conditions (“T&Cs”):

Eligibility:

The following criteria shall be met by each participant to be eligible for the Contest:

• Citizenship: The participant must be a citizen of India holding a valid passport to participate in the Contest.
• Offer Period: GRE India Contest will be open from 20th May 2024 to 15th Sept 2024 for the GRE test takers who registered and took the test during the period from 20th May 2024 to 15th Sept 2024.
• Eligibility criteria include:
  • Students who are pursuing/completed their undergraduate or graduate studies in India and looking for higher education abroad.
  • Or professionals with up to two (2) years of verifiable full-time or part-time professional work experience.

It is hereby also clarified that the successful completion of GRE Test by the participant of the Contest with a minimum 280 marks is mandatory to participate in the Contest.

Prizes:

• ETS India shall declare the winners of the contest within 15 days of contest completion. Cash prizes will be distributed within 30 days of receiving all necessary documents, which include valid ID proof among other details. (“Winner”). However, no such requests for prizes will be entertained if the documents are not received based on the last date communicated by ETS India for submission of documents. In case the scores are cancelled subsequently, the ‘winner’ will be required to return the prize money to ETS India.
• Cash Prizes: A total of Rs 12 Lacs will be distributed amongst the winners in the following manner:
  • 1st (1 winner): ₹2,00,000
  • 2nd (2 winners): ₹1,50,000 each
  • 3rd (3 winners): ₹1,00,000 each
  • 4th (8 winners): ₹50,000 each

For better understanding, it is hereby clarified that the participants taking the GRE Test shall be eligible for the Contest if they have scored more than 280 marks.

Selection Criteria:

• GRE India Contest Cash Prizes Selection: Cash prizes aggregating to ₹12 lacs will be selected solely based on the scores achieved in the GRE Test. 
• The winners will be decided based on aggregate of scores in verbal reasoning and analytical writing.

ETS India shall disburse the Cash Prize, in Indian Rupees (INR) only and directly to the Winner’s designated bank account as provided in advance (through a cancelled cheque), by the Winner in writing through an e-mail to ETS India at register4gre@etsindia.org

Winner’s Obligations:

• Promotional Activities: The Winners of the Prize will participate in the promotional activities for GRE as and when requested by ETS India.
• The Winners will be required to act as a GRE Brand Ambassador and share static and video testimonials and record two of his/her videos on campus at a foreign university that they have joined.
• The Winner may also be required to promote GRE amongst his/her network.

• Post taking the GRE test, a participant shall use the following link to apply for the Contest: https://www.etsindia.org/gre-india-contest-form
 
• In case a participant becomes eligible for more than one contest, prize, etc. by whatever name called, by ETS India during May 2024 and Sep 2024, the participant will be eligible for only 1 such prize or contest which is of the higher value.
• By participation in the Contest, it shall imply that participants agree to all the T&Cs mentioned herein. Any participant found using any unfair means anytime during the Contest will be immediately disqualified at the sole discretion of ETS India. ETS India reserves the right to take appropriate legal action against the participant in case of any violation of applicable laws.
• Participation in the Contest is wholly voluntary and by participating in the Contest, the participants agree to receive communication(s) from ETS India relating to the Contest and the participant unconditionally agrees not to make any claims or raise any complaint against ETS India in this regard.
• Winners shall be allowed to claim the Prizes only upon proper submission of all relevant details/documents for review in the manner that shall be communicated by ETS India. In case the Winner fails to furnish the details/documents on or before the date designated by ETS India for this purpose, or accept delivery of the Prize, the Winner shall be deemed to have surrendered the Prize. In such case, ETS India reserves the right to offer the Prize to the next suitable participant.
• All taxes, levies, and duties due and owing under applicable and statutory laws in connection with all Prize if any, and all other costs, including insurance, incidental costs, gifts, gratuities, and taxes, are the sole responsibility of the Winner(s).
• The Prizes under the Contest shall be non-transferrable.
• ETS India reserves the right to cancel, modify, alter/amend extend, or withdraw the Contest and its terms at any time at its sole and absolute discretion.
• Participants agree that ETS India shall not be liable for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Contest or with the acceptance, possession, or use of any Prize.
• It is also hereby clarified that the conduct of this Contest shall not fall under the definition of “lottery” as defined under the Lotteries (Regulation) Act, 1998
• ETS India shall be entitled to use the database of the entries received and/or any personal data included as part of such database, including test-taker data and information in accordance with the ETS India Privacy Policy (accessible at Privacy Policy - ETS India) for the purposes and in the manner outlined in the ETS India Privacy Policy, including, without limitation, for future promotional, marketing and publicity purpose without any further reference or payment or compensation whatsoever to the participant.
• ETS India shall not be held liable for delays or any issues in connection to the distribution of the Prize.
• The Contest shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India.
• Subject to para below, all disputes hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts at New Delhi, India only.
• Any disputes, differences and, or any other matters in relation to and arising out of the Contest and, or, pertaining to the rules and regulations and, or the T&Cs shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 as amended from time to time. The arbitral tribunal shall consist of a sole arbitrator to be appointed by ETS India. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be New Delhi.
